Refractory Management

As one of Africa largest refractory management service provider, our goal is to deliver customised, safe, complete refractory management solutions, incorporating material selection, pre-planning, stock management, procurement, demolition, installation, technical support and condition monitoring.

What is Refractory Management?
Refractory materials are essentially heat-resistant materials, such as refractory bricks, castables, ramming or gunning materials, which are designed to maintain their strength in high-temperatures. These materials are often used in highly technical industries as the building blocks for large production facilities, such as smelters and incinerators.

Refractory management refers to the management of these production facilities and the processes governing them. Whilst many of these refractory facilities are designed to withstand intense heat, many specialized industries require resistance to other extreme processes such as acids.

Our team has vast experience, covering a range of furnaces and plant configurations including:

  • Brick kilns
  • Refineries
  • Incinerators
  • Acid plants
  • Boilers
  • Pressure leach tanks
  • Rotary kilns
  • Cement
  • Carbon bake furnaces
  • Non-ferrous plants
  • Glass plants
  • Aluminium plants
  • Copper smelters
  • Nickel smelters
  • Lead smelters

Moreki Development understands the critical path time frames when performing refractory demolition or installation work and the impact this can have on the project outcome.

Our focus is on providing tailored processes and technological solutions that reduce operating costs, save time and improve refractory performance and reliability for our clients.

What falls under Moreki Development demolition and installation services? We pride ourselves in being able to deliver timely and comprehensive services for builds, rebuilds, scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs and separate our offering into four different components:

Installation materials
Moreki Development has long standing relationships with local and global refractory material manufacturers, who produce a full range of bricks and monolithics, flow control products and foundry products to suit all kinds of refractory applications.

Through these relationships and through the volume of materials we purchase, Moreki Development can deliver value and cost advantages to our clients through synergies in the supply a d install market.

Condition monitoring
We offer condition monitoring of installed refractories, including thorough maintenance programs and highly defined scopes for future shutdowns and turnarounds.

Our Condition monitoring services include: inspections and assessments, infrared thermography, impact echo testing, virtual tours and refractory and construction work surveying
